WHS Junior Lorelei Wise earns perfect ACT score
Wyoming High School Junior Lorelei Wise has earned the highest possible score of 36 on the ACT college admissions test.
Lorelei plans to study psychology and/or astrophysics in college with the ultimate goal of earning a doctoral degree.
“I've always been fascinated by the brain, human behavior, and how cognition and biology impact each other,” said Lorelei. “Taking psychology this year has made me even more excited about these topics, and increased my certainty of what I want to study beyond high school.”
The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science, with an optional writing test. Each test is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and a student's composite score is the average of those four test scores rounded to the nearest whole number. According to calculations based upon The ACT Profile Report for the Graduating Class of 2024, only .22% of test takers earned a 36.
“This extraordinary accomplishment showcases Lorelei’s remarkable capacity to apply knowledge, think critically and solve problems,” said Wyoming High School Principal Michael Voynovich. “Lorelei’s perfect ACT score is an example of Wyoming High School’s relentless pursuit of excellence in all areas and it is certainly a shining example of academic excellence in action.”
