These notices are pertinent to the No Surprises Act and the Publicly Available Cost Information requirements of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (CAA):
No Surprise Act Notice - This legislation provides rules and processes to protect health plan members from balance billing that may arise from non-network provider utilization that is out of the member's control. An example could be, an individual having surgery at an in-network facility, by an in-network physician, but the anesthesiologist, which they have no control over, is out of network.
Federal Transparency in Coverage Rule - This link leads to machine readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.
