For the week of March 1:
Based upon the current data related to the spread of COVID in our school buildings and local area, Wyoming City Schools will continue to be on the In-School Instruction learning plan the week of March 1.
On a daily basis, Wyoming City Schools is:
- Tracking our local data and evolving science
- Following public health guidance
- Monitoring the academic progress and social and emotional needs of our students
- Tracking our ability to strictly implement our bundle of protective protocols
We are continuing to contact trace and communicate about all on-site cases among students and staff members. In the future, it is possible that we will need to shift our learning mode again on short notice (from in-person to hybrid or full remote) and students, families, and staff members should be as prepared for that as possible.
We will continue to share information at least weekly and it is crucial that students, families, and staff members restrict their activities outside of school to minimize the risk of introduction of COVID-19 into the classroom setting.
Improve How Your Mask Protects You
From the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Correct and consistent mask use is a critical step everyone can take to prevent getting and spreading COVID-19. Masks work best when everyone wears them, but not all masks provide the same protection. When choosing a mask, look at how well it fits, how well it filters the air, and how many layers it has.
Ohio’s K-12 Vaccination Plan Update
Wyoming City Schools employees have been able to access first doses of COVID-19 vaccine under Ohio’s K-12 Vaccination Program. The first round of doses of vaccine were administered to Wyoming City Schools employees on Friday, Feb. 12. The administration of Wyoming City Schools second doses is scheduled to be completed on Friday, March 12.
For the safety and wellness of our students and staff, it is critical that staff and families continue to self-report to Wyoming City Schools any COVID-19 illness, testing, positive test result, or close contact.
COVID-19 Reporting for Students should be sent through the following forms:
Positive COVID-19 Test Notification Form
COVID-19 Quarantine Notification Form
These forms are submitted directly to District Nurse Nicole Murphy for review. Other COVID reporting for students can be sent through email to email@example.com.
COVID-19 Reporting for Staff Members should be sent through email to Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ashley Whitely at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All submissions will be responded to as quickly as possible.
Local COVID-19 Testing
Testing is available through Test & Protect. Test and Protect is funded by Hamilton County through the CARES Act. On-site testing is provided by the University of Cincinnati and UC Health.
* The state reporting system began on September 7; Wyoming City Schools began our reporting on August 1. Inconsistencies in cumulative totals shared on the Ohio Department of Health's School COVID-19 Dashboard are due to this discrepancy in start date.
