Caps for the Cure at WMS More Information

Students Wyoming Middle School,

The week of May 10th to the 13th we are asking students to donate a dollar towards the The Cure Starts Now Foundation which is Cincinnati’s largest childhood cancer research charity. They have 40 locations in the US, Canada and Australia. The foundation has funded over 100 trials, $16 million in innovative research and has been responsible for three major discoveries that have already changed the face of cancer cures.

If students donate they may wear a crazy hat on Thursday, May 13th.

Thank you for your support,

Wyoming Middle School Student Council

Walk-In COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for anyone 16 or older
@ 9:00 AM — 12:00 PM
Location
WHS Athletic Facility, 1111 Burns Ave.

More Information

Wyoming City Schools is partnering with Hamilton County Public Health to provide a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic in Wyoming. The clinic will take place 9 a.m.-noon Thursday, May 13, in the high school's new athletic facility - The Dr. Dan Jones Family Champions Center.

The clinic is open to anyone 16 or older and will offer the Pfizer vaccine. The second shot clinic will take place on Thursday, June 3. The vaccine is offered at no cost. There is no need for insurance or appointments for this clinic and there is no residency requirement.

Minors getting the vaccine must have a completed consent form at the time of vaccination or have a parent on site. Click here to print the 2-page consent form. Paper copies of the consent form are available at the Wyoming City Schools Central Office, 420 Springfield Pike.

If the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention take action to expand use of the Pfizer vaccine to those 12-15 years of age prior to Thursday, we plan to open the clinic to that age group, also.

If possible, walking to the clinic is advisable. A limited number of accessible parking spots are available adjacent to the facility. All other parking will be on the surrounding streets.

A Message from the Wyoming Parent School Association regarding the cancellation of May Fete Fundraiser:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform everyone that the May Fete Fundraiser is canceled again this year.

May Fete requires a minimum of 5 months planning and over 300 volunteers for a successful event during a TYPICAL non-covid year. Shifting conditions and changing government mandates  made this planning process impossible within this timeline.

Additionally, our ride vendor is unable to enforce the current government mandates that would allow an event of this magnitude to occur. This responsibility would then fall on parent volunteers, which is an unrealistic and unfair expectation that makes volunteering for a fun community event an unpleasant and unwelcome experience.

We cannot wait until we can resume this beloved tradition in 2022.

In the meantime, we will be putting together something fun in lieu of May Fete, so stay tuned for more information. If you have any questions please email me at wpsa.president@gmail.com.
