More Information

Good morning, Cowboys,

May Fete has been a long-standing tradition of the PSA.  It began as a Valentine-themed festival in 1922 and officially became what we know as May Fete in 1933.  Ironically, the inaugural event was held by the Mothers Club in order to raise funds following school struggles after the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1919.  In 1919, "...the schools remained closed for so long, classroom hours were made up through late afternoons and school on Saturdays."

What a difference a century makes!  Today instead of closing schools and adjusting schedules, we utilize technology to ensure our students and their families receive the best education offered in the State of Ohio and the PSA still stands strong in support of both!

Over the past 98 years, May Fete has only been "suspended once, between 1942 and 1946, because of wartime restrictions."  It is with a heavy heart that we suspend May Fete for the second time.

The worldwide tragedy forcing this suspension has changed our lives in many ways over the past three weeks and will continue to affect how we live far into the future.  Please have faith and take heart in the knowledge that our community, our schools, and our PSA remains strong and resilient!

If you have questions or would like to discuss this decision please feel free to email me (David Ambrose) at ambrosed25@yahoo.com or stop me on the sidewalks as I try to get outside and walk Stella (while practicing social distancing of course).  If you're interested in more facts about May Fete I have included the link that I used to write this below.

Please stay safe and healthy over the coming weeks and months.

Sincerely,

David Ambrose
