More Information

Dear Wyoming Primary Parents and Guardians,

Hello!  Mrs. Benjamin and Mrs. Williams would like to invite your students to celebrate the annual Youth Art Week with us at Elm, Hilltop, and Vermont Primary Schools!  Youth Art Week will be held the week of March 2-6.  We are using this week to celebrate and promote visual arts education in our schools.  A few simple events will occur each day during the week, but for Dress-Up Days we will need your help to get kids organized at home!

EVENT One:  Dress Up Days!  Students and staff will be encouraged to dress according to the following dress codes:

Monday 3/2: Perfect Primaries (red, blue, yellow)

Tuesday 3/3: Secondary Extraordinary (violet, orange, green)

Wednesday 3/4: Mono-Chrome (any one color in varying shades)

Thursday 3/5: Patterns, Patterns Everywhere! (Mix-up plaid, stripes, polka dots, etc.)

Friday 3/6: Wild Wyoming Spirit (Wyoming Blue!!!!)

EVENT Two:  Mini-Museum/Art History Fun Facts

A mini-museum will be organized at each building displaying artwork related to the theme.  This year’s theme is all about COLOR!

EVENT Three:  Art Installation

Each student will participate in creating a school-wide artwork that will be displayed together as a group.  There will be art installations on display at each building.

We would like to say thank you for all the many years of support you’ve given the visual arts program here in the primary division.  This is one more way students can show how they are ART SMART!

                                                                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                                                                                    Holly Benjamin
