Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)

The purpose of the CAC, a group of Wyoming residents and Wyoming City Schools staff members, is two-fold:

1. Through the use of expert community resources, the committee will be responsible for conducting studies and investigations and reporting such findings and making suggestions or recommendations, if any, in areas of school programs and operations as those areas of study or investigation are identified by the Board of Education and the committee members with the approval of the Board of Education.
2. The Committee will assist in maintaining active and informed school-community relations through the discussion of general educational issues affecting the community of Wyoming.

Best Practices for Students/Staff Utilizing Temporary Instructional Spaces:

The Wyoming Primary Facilities Master Plan calls for the construction of three new primary facilities on the current school sites. During the 18-month construction process for each school, temporary classrooms and building spaces would be employed for our primary students and staff. This study aims to identify and establish best practices for optimizing the educational experience and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning in these temporary instructional environments. The findings would be used to guide the district in ensuring students and staff can adapt effectively to these interim spaces, minimizing disruption and maximizing educational outcomes throughout the construction period.

Social Media and Its Impact on Students and Families

This study examines the impact of social media on students and families, focusing on insights from the book The Anxious Generation and the Netflix mini-series The Social Dilemma. The study explores the challenges and implications of social media usage on student health and family dynamics.  The outcome of this study will be the development of a comprehensive presentation that will be delivered to the CAC, the Board of Education, and the community during a WCS Parent Partnership Presentation. This presentation will provide evidence-based insights and practical strategies to address the effects of social media on families, fostering informed discussions and actions within the school community.
