The Wyoming Middle School community has raised $5000 for the Brave Like Brayden Library at the Queen City Book Bank! Led by Brayden's friends and Teacher Angie Arengo, Wyoming Middle School hosted monthly fundraisers February-April 2023, including a lollipop sale, hat and jersey day, and a homeroom competition. Through this work and the annual work of our 6th graders to host book drives and create bookmarks, Wyoming Middle School is helping to build a stronger, more connected, compassionate, and literate community throughout Greater Cincinnati.
The Brave Like Brayden Library is a specially curated collection of children's books designed to teach life lessons that were important to Wyoming Middle School student Brayden Otten, who passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 13. These lessons include courage, perseverance, honesty, integrity, humor, cooperation, and curiosity. By providing children in underserved communities with access to these books, the Brave Like Me Foundation hopes to foster a love of reading and help others develop their own literacy skills.
The mission of the Brave Like Me Foundation is to inspire children with complex medical conditions and their friends, family, and neighbors to live their fullest brave lives. If you'd like to learn more and support the Brave Like Me Foundation, visit https://bravelikemefoundation.org/.
