Wyoming City Schools has earned the Auditor of State Award for excellence in financial reporting. This award is presented to local governments and school districts upon completion of a “clean” audit report.
"We are so proud to earn this award again!” said Wyoming City Schools Treasurer Ronda Johnson. "Our goal is to be good stewards of our taxpayers’ dollars and this award is testimony to the dedication and excellent work of all staff members across the District who handle public funds."
The Hixson Teacher of the Year Award recognizes full-time teachers who are making outstanding contributions to students' lives. Since 1991, Hixson has sponsored the Teacher of the Year Award, which is presented annually to a current teacher of a Hixson associate’s child or grandchild. Mrs. Coomer was nominated by sisters Lauren and Annabelle Montgomery. Mrs. Coomer was recognized for her ability to inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities; earn the respect and admiration of students, parents and co-workers; and for playing an active role in her community, as well as her school's community activities.
Our theme for this school year is #ImpactWyoming. This is our way to realize that no matter what our role is within the district, we each have the incredible opportunity to make a difference for our students, staff, and families. When we each realize the potential we have to #ImpactWyoming, the possibilities are endless for our students!
