Sixth grader Ernie Davis III received the 2023 Capturing the Vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for the State of Ohio on January 12, 2023. This award recognizes young Ohioans who exemplify leadership, nonviolence, and a commitment to excellence and interracial cooperation.
Recipients of this prize "demonstrate impressive leadership in carrying on Dr. King's legacy by bringing their communities together," said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. "We are incredibly grateful for their work to keep his dream alive and encourage unity among all Ohioans."
Wyoming Middle School fifth grade students collected 1,722 gently used or new books for the Queen City Book bank in December.
"Thank you so much for the awesome books and to all the student who helped to load them up," said Queen City Book Bank Vice President Kim McDermott. "We will put them to great use and appreciate all Wyoming does to support our mission."
The book drive helped students to learn more about the importance of literacy and the positive impact they can have on their community.
Welcome to Wyoming City Schools! We are so happy your child is joining our school community!
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the Wyoming Primary Schools 2023-2024 Kindergarten Information Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at Elm School, 134 Elm Avenue.
Elm School has received the 2022 Community Spirit Award from the City of Wyoming Urban Forestry & Beautification Commission. Through a collaboration among Elm School, the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens, the Elm Inspiration Garden began as a way for students to learn more about the importance of pollinators. Community members, students, staff, and administrators have partnered to establish and maintain the space.
