WHS Principal Weekly

Good Afternoon Wyoming,Deb & Greg Sites

As we head into halftime (Winter Break) I want to speak to how impressed I have been with our students. I am proud to be part of their growth and grateful for the daily interactions. I hope that everyone enjoys the time off and enjoys their family and friends. My hope is for our students to take time over the break to reflect on their accomplishments over the first half of the school year and relax and recharge so we can finish the second half stronger than the first.

Thank you to all of our incredible parents and guardians! Your consistent support means the world to me and our staff. Thank you for trusting me with your children. Our team will continue to work together to provide the best education, best school environment, and best practices for our students. Words can't express how much I appreciate you!

A special thank you to our Custodian Greg Sites and his relentless work ethic in our district and building. He will be retiring and embarking on his next journey in life. He will be dearly missed here in Wyoming.

January 9 & 10:

Due to inclement weather and no school tomorrow, Dec. 23, we have rescheduled our 7th period exam for January 10th. We will operate on a modified bell schedule on Jan. 10 for this purpose and resume all normal 2nd semester classes at the conclusion of the exam: Jan 10th Period 7 Exam

January 9th will be a normal day of school. All kids should report to their homeroom to receive a copy of their 2nd semester schedule to follow.

We will make arrangements on Monday, Jan. 9, for students who need to take make-up exams.

*If your student had a waiver signed for their 7th period exam prior to break or has early dismissal, they do not need to come until 9:50 a.m. on January 10th.

Automated attendance calls starting in January:

State law requires schools to contact the parent or guardian of an absent student within 120 minutes of the start of the school day if the school has not been notified of that student’s absence by that time.

More information about student attendance can be found through the following links:

Wyoming City Schools Attendance Policy 5200

To help us accomplish this, Wyoming City Schools will be using automated attendance phone calls. We will be testing the automated system over winter break and anticipate beginning the phone calls on Monday, January 9, 2023.

When an absence is necessary, please call the WHS attendance line at 513-206-7062 prior to the start of the school day. This practice will help families avoid receiving unnecessary phone calls. Absence lines are available 24-hours-a-day and are on the website and on the back of printed district calendar mailed to all homes each summer.

Thank you for your patience and partnership as we onboard this new process.
