LAPTOP SUPPORT

Access to knowledge and learning is expanding over the web.  In addition, the demands of the workplace are changing.  The mission of Wyoming City Schools is to “promote academic achievement, self-worth, mutual respect, and multi-faceted student development so that students will be positive contributors to society.”  The mission includes a vision where “21st Century habits and authentic inquiry-based experiences which can lead to all students reaching their full potential, responsible citizenship, global competency, and life-long learning.” A one-to-one initiative will support Wyoming City Schools in fulfilling this mission.  

This year, laptop rollout for the Sophomore pilot is taking place in October 2016 in order to ensure a quality deployment.  Parent meetings will take place in October and students will receive laptops through their Language Arts courses on October 20, 2016.  Students start to receive training in laptop care, basic troubleshooting, and Internet safety in the primary grades and continuing through high school.
