All meetings and those of Board-appointed committees are open to the public. Interested residents are welcomed and encouraged to attend meetings. During each regular meeting, there is an opportunity for the public to address the Board on important issues. The involvement and contributions of the public, students, and staff are important in the Board’s decision-making process.
The Wyoming Board of Education consists of five members, all residents of the community. The members are elected by the citizens of Wyoming for four-year terms. The primary responsibilities of the Board are to establish purposes, programs, and procedures which best serve the educational interests of each student. The Board must accomplish this while also being responsible for the wise management of fiscal resources provided by our residents. The Board will fulfill these responsibilities by functioning as a legislative body to formulate and adopt policy, by selecting an executive officer (the superintendent) to implement policy, and by evaluating the results.
